On December 23rd, the Grow Your Dream Foundation, in partnership with HITA, an NGO based in Germany, brought joy and hope to the children and community of Golokope in the Adaklu District of Ghana. This remote village, plagued by the absence of electricity and access to clean drinking water, was transformed into a vibrant celebration ground as the foundation’s team arrived with gifts and supplies.
The excitement was palpable as the children, dressed in their best attire, gathered at the community centre, their eyes wide with anticipation. The team distributed Christmas hats, toys, drinks, and treats, bringing squeals of delight and smiles to the faces of the children. Their mothers, equally thrilled, received rice and spaghetti, staples that would help them cook a special Christmas meal for their families.
As the celebration unfolded, the community came together, united in their joy and gratitude. The village chief, touched by the gesture, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to HITA and the Grow Your Dream Foundation, saying, “You have brought hope to our community. Your kindness will be remembered for generations to come. The community leaders also made a heartfelt appeal to the foundation to support the construction of a daycare school, a much-needed facility given the distance to the nearest school. Currently, children have to walk miles to access education, a challenge that hinders their growth and development. The leaders pleaded for assistance, emphasising that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and unlocking the potential of their children. This initiative has not only brought Christmas cheer but also a renewed sense of hope for a brighter future.
